Grange Enters Safe Food Debate

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, March 18, 2008 --- With its motto of “Helping Farmers, Protecting Consumers”, the California State Grange has entered the debate on the causes and cures of contamination of the nation’s food supply, in particular leafy green vegetables grown in California.

On May 30, the Grange will facilitate a round table discussion at the historic American River Grange Hall in Rancho Cordova, starting at 9:00am. Representative farmers, regulators, buyers and consumers will be invited to participate.

Grange Sponsored Bill For Dam Study Passes Committee

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, April 2, 2008, --- The California State Grange won an early victory in the effort to build a new dam across the Pit River in Modoc County.  Legislation that would approve a feasibility study paving the way for construction of the Ostrum Point Dam passed out of the State Assembly Water, Parks & Wildlife Committee April 1.
